The IDEASchools network exists to develop and support innovative K-12 independent schools. Through the framework of project-based learning (PBL) our goal is to enable schools to fundamentally rethink teaching and learning and empower teachers to become proficient in PBL practices.
The IDEASchools Network was founded by Tikvah Wiener and Dr. Eliezer Jones with the founding schools of the network being the Magen David Yeshivah in Brooklyn, NY and Valley Torah High School in Los Angeles, CA.
PBL is a dynamic pedagogical approach where students engage directly with real-world problems. Students work collaboratively with peers to investigate problems, in depth, and produce an end project that has relevance in the real world. With this type of active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they’re studying and apply it to something meaningful to them.
